Oils, 12"x24"

Paintings are powerful tools for expressing emotion. A good painting is completely honest, a window into the heart of the painter.

In this case, even though I didn't mean it to, this painting caught a taste of the depression I was going through while painting it. Now that sadness is told, more honestly than perhaps I would be to anyone but my best friends, to anyone who walks by this painting.

It used to be that people thought that artists could trap the soul of the person they painted in their artwork. I think that the opposite is true.

As artists, we trap and leave a little bit of our own soul in each painting we make...

Oh, I really like what you said in the description, I definitely agree. Each piece of art is really a shard of ourselves. This is absolutely beautiful, by the way :)

I like how the stems in the water are depicted and the dramatic orange light. Well done :)

You were completely right about your words. I do hope more people will feel it that way also. Sorry for my poor English ...

I hope your week is as bright as you've made my day!

Let's face it; I LOVE hearing that someone enjoys my work! That means it did what it was meant to do!

If all my art does is hang on a wall and look arty, and no-one is cheered by it at all, I've failed. As long as there are people like you who enjoy seeing it, though, I'm happy; it's done all it needed to. :)

This one is so clean. It is very realistic, but it still transmits the solemnity that only a painting - not a photo - can transmit.
However, it shows me clarity of soul. I wouldn't have guessed you where feeling depressed while painting it. Though I can also feel like a "calm before the storm" when I look at it.
And finally, I love flowers =)
